Stovetop moka pots, or espresso stovetop makers, are the perfect way to make your morning espresso. Your espresso will have a delicious, authentic taste and won’t require any expensive equipment. Patience and practice is key when making the best espresso with a stovetop moka pot!
Remove the top part of the espresso maker and the filter funnel insert. Pour fresh water in the lower portion of the stove top espresso maker up to the valves level.
Place the funnel back in the pot and fill with medium-fine ground espresso coffee. Screw the top part of the coffee maker back onto the lower portion firmly.
Place the coffee maker on the stove at a high setting (if it’s a gas stove, make sure the flame is under the coffee pot bottom as to not burn the handle of the espresso maker). Wait a few minutes and when you hear the bubbling sound, lower the heat.
Coffee is ready when bubbling sound has decreased and the top portion of the coffee maker is filled with coffee. Once bubbling sound has decreased and the top portion of the coffee maker is filled with coffee, remove from heat immediately (carefully as the pot will be very hot).
Pour and enjoy your freshly brewed espresso!
